Kyrie Irving spotted on Tanahie Aboushie call before Nets tip-off

Instead of playing for the Nets on Tuesday night, Brooklyn star Kyrie Irving took part in a video-call launch party for Manhattan DA candidate Tahanie Aboushi.

Aboushi tweeted an image of the Zoom meeting, and Irving was among the volunteers and supporters who participated.

The meeting began at 7 p.m. — 30 minutes before the Nets tipped off against the Denver Nuggets at the Barclays Center.

Irving, 28, has missed four straight games, including Tuesday night’s, and has been away from the team since last week.

The point guard’s absence is believed to be because he is upset over the US Capitol riot.

Irving has not spoken publicly since the insurrection, but on Monday night a video surfaced of him apparently partying maskless while celebrating his sister’s birthday.

The video was not dated.

Nets general manager Sean Marks said in a statement that the organization was aware of the video and was “reviewing the circumstances with both Kyrie and the NBA in order to determine compliance with health and safety protocols.”

The NBA’s COVID-19 protocols prohibit players from going to bars, lounges or clubs, or social gatherings with more than 15 people.
