Man may have been buried in avalanche near Park City Mountain Resort

Summit County authorities are searching for a man who is believed to have been buried in an avalanche Friday.

According to Summit County Sheriff Justin Martinez, witnesses said a man was caught in an avalanche in the Dutch Draw area, a backcountry area near Park City Mountain Resort’s Canyons Village. A helicopter crew is searching the area, and “teams are working to make the area safe so they can make the area safe for search efforts,” Martinez tweeted.

No further information was immediately available.
